She attended Erasmus + exchange at Kunstuniversität Linz in Austria and is currently finishing her master studies at the department of sculpture at ALUO. She participated in several group exhibitions and festivals in Slovenia and abroad. In her artistic practice she is interested in boundaries and conditions of artistic work with an emphasis on the exploration of her artistic process. More than on stating final statements she is focused on ways in which a work that is uncertain is established and fails to acquire a certain reading. With attentiveness to her position she wishes to explore curatorial practices as a field that establishes and enables different ways of reception and creating in the art world.
Maja Burja (1992) graduated in the year 2015, at the department of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana and has participated in a number of group exhibitions and festivals. She is thus attentively observing her position as an artist – questioning the chosen medium, specific context, that her work helps to create when exhibited and different modes of objecthood that such an activity uncovers. Her artistic strategies began converging to those of the curator, insofar as they are still clearly discernable from each other. She wishes to dedicate her future endeavors to the study of the specifics of such an approach.
