Katarina Bogataj is an art historian and south slavicist. Since 2017, she is an associate of the international organization Forum of Slavic Cultures. Between 2019 and 2020, she did an internship at the WHW collective (What, How & for Whom), based in Zagreb/Berlin. Since 2019, she has been the editor-in-chief of the university portal Artfiks, which under her leadership has become a more recognized and open medium for both students and alumni of the four associated faculties: ALUO, FA, FF and AVA. She has curated several exhibitions, the most notable of which is a photographic exhibition on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Arts, entitled Life at the Faculty of Arts through a photographic lens. Ajda Bračič (1990) is an architect, publicist and author. Until 2021 she was the executive editor of Outsider magazine, a Slovenian architecture and culture magazine. Before that, she collaborated with Hiše magazine, and her articles have also been included in Razpotja and Ars&Humanitas. From 2015 until 2017 she was the editor of performative arts section at Koridor. She also writes poetry and short fiction, her works have been published in Literatura, Sodobnost and Medmet magazines, on Radio Študent and Radio ARS. (photo: personal archive)
Blaž Brumen
Janja Buzečan (1980) graduated in Journalism from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, and in Multimedia from the Institute and academy of multimedia. Since 2015, she has been working as a Public Relations Consultant at the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana, where she is in charge of the Jakopič Gallery, Vžigalica Gallery and Indigo festival. Hana Čeferin (1995) graduated in Art History and English Language and Literature and is currently finishing her MA in Art History at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. She was president of the Society of Art History Students of Slovenia Kunsthisterik between 2018 and 2020. Since 2015, she is an associate of Galerija Fotografija in Ljubljana, where she has worked with both Slovenian and international artists (among others Tanja Lažetić, Boris Gaberščik, Stojan Kerbler, Michael Kenna). She is also active as an independent curator and has curated exhibitions in Gallery of Prešeren Award Laureates Kranj, Škuc Gallery, City Hall Ljubljana and Layer house. Matevž Jerman is self employed in cultural activities as a critic and is widely active in the film field. He has co-funded the Kraken Short Film Promotion Society and works as program director at FeKK – Ljubljana Short Film Festival. Jerman works for several other film festival such as Kino Otok, Liffe or Kinotrip as a curator of short film programs and as a mentor. He is also a film critic and works at the program department at the Slovene cinematheque as the editor of Kinoteka’s bi-monthly newspaper. Maša Knapič (1996) received her bachelor’s degree at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana (2019), where she is currently completing a master’s program in painting. In her practice she focuses on the idea and the medium of painting. She is interested in the relation between the subject and its medium, and the context in which the work is put into. Her works were shown in a few group exhibitions in Slovenia. Since 2018 she has been a part of Gallery 7:069, a student-run platform that focuses on exhibiting current student production. Teja Kosi (1996) is a curator and a researcher who graduated from Cultural Studies and is continuing her postgraduate studies at the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana. Between 2017 and 2019 she wrote art criticism, conducted interviews and reports for Koridor – The Crossroads of Art, where she became co-editor of the visual art section. In recent years, she has been an active part of the collectives of galleries DobraVaga, Ravnikar Gallery Space and Poligon Gallery, where she curated and took part in the design and preparation of exhibitions. She is the author of the book Personal Outsides: Mapping the Ljubljana art scene (2019), featuring 18 interviews with Slovenia´s brightest emerging visual artists, created in collaboration with Ravnikar Gallery Space, where she also prepared and ran a series of events Personal sides. Katarina Lipovac (1990), born in Rijeka, completed her single-subject Art History studies in 2020 at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. As a student, she worked at the Modern Gallery, City Art Gallery and DobraVaga Gallery. In the latter, she also tried her hand at curating the exhibition segment of the ”Bridges” project, as well as organising other exhibitions. Her interests are related to the functions, strategies and ways of managing contemporary art in the world of existing cultural practices, in particular in the structure of the art market, both in terms of financial valuation and anthropological importance. Teja Miholič (1993) graduated in Photography from the Higher School of Applied Sciences in Ljubljana and finished her master studies of Film and Audiovisual Media at École Nationale Supérieure de L’audiovisuel in Toulouse, France. She works in the fields of film, photography and digital art. Her films were screened at the Festival of Slovenian Film (Ringelšpil Weekend, Srdohrd, Ondine, So That Humanity Can Survive), as well as the FeKK, Kino Otok and festivals abroad. She exhibited her projects Fuck Local Whores, Accidental Internet Artefacts, Glasuj Zame, etc. at the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova, the DobraVaga Gallery, the Street Gallery, Galerija Fotografija, Cirkulacija, Kino Šiška, Photon. Tamara Mlakar (1996) completed a combined programme study of Art History and History at Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. She is currently continuing Art History studies at the master’s level. In recent years, she has been working as a student in the main cultural centre Cankarjev Dom, among other tasks she has guided tours of exhibitions in the Cankarjev Dom Gallery. Since 2020, she has been working as an informer in the Kresija Gallery. She is interested in the intersection of art and sociological topics, especially in the field of feminist and queer culture. Ana Obid (1995) graduated in Art History at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana (2019), where is currently continuing her education on a MA degree programme. She is mainly interested in Slovene visual art after 1945 and its role in the wider social context. As a student she worked at the MGLC Ljubljana, National Gallery of Slovenia, Forum of Slavic Cultures, and has also collaborated with Senzorium Theatre. Sanja Vatić (1979) graduated from Conceptualization of Space at AVA – Academy of Visual Arts (2012). She is currently attending postgraduate studies in the visual arts at the AVA Academy. Since 2014, she has been working at AVA in the learning units of Conception of Space II and Video I (which includes theater and film production design and video), and as a program coordinator (which includes cooperation with students in designing and performing art projects). As an interdisciplinary artist she has participated in various projects in film and theatre, as a production designer, director, light designer,…and as an independent artist she has participated in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. Eva Žibert (1997) is completing her undergraduate studies in art history and comparative literature at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. She is currently writing a diploma thesis on the curatorial practices of Gregor Podnar at the Škuc Gallery and is enrolling for a master’s degree in contemporary art and curation abroad. With January 2021 she is finishing the para-academic program Academian Nuts, as part of which a group exhibition was set up in the project spaces of Fotopub and Ulay Foundation. In the warmer months of 2021, she is going on Erasmus + practical training in Berlin. In March 2020, her independent scientific article on the dating of the Venetian House in Piran was published in the journal Klio, and in February 2021 she will publish another on the entry of the Sečovlje salt pans in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Maša P. Žmitek (1985) received her master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in the field of illustration, and currently works as a self-employed illustrator, designer and producer. In 2018, she took over the management of the Gallery of Vodnik Homestead Šiška, where she produced and curated a number of exhibitions, including a survey exhibition of scientific illustration in Slovenia. In addition to the regular programme of the gallery, she organizes the now traditional annual December Illustration Fair, in which representatives of both older and younger generation of Slovenian illustrators participate. Between 2009 and 2015, she worked as the Executive Assistant to the Artistic Director Dr Ellen Frank, working, teaching and participating in art projects within the Ellen Frank Illumination Arts Foundation Inc., New York, USA. She illustrated several book projects for domestic and foreign publishing houses, and exhibited as an illustrator at the Slovenian Biennial of Illustration and in many galleries in Slovenia (Ljubljana City Hall, Natural History Museum of Slovenia, Gallery of Prešern Award Laureates Kranj, etc.) and abroad (Biennial of Illustration in Bratislava, Golden Pen Belgrade, Guild Hall Museum of Art, Damon Dash Gallery and Osilas Gallery, USA, National Gallery of Armenia, etc.). She received the University Prešeren Award for her master’s thesis in the field of scientific illustration, and is also a recipient of the Silver Award (GRAPHIS, New York) and the Brumen award for excellent Slovenian design.
