The years-long engagement of SCCA -Ljubljana in the field of education in contemporary art has brought about the collaboration with NAAC, The National Association of Art Critics. In 2006, they have prepared the first Summer School for Contemporary Art Curators. The school is going to run on a yearly basis. The Association has conceived its further development in collaboration with regional partners who systematically and on long-term basis build a platform for stimulating and understanding contemporary curatorial practices and critique. Thus SCCA-Ljubljana collaborates with the Soros Contemporary Art Centre from Almaty (Kazakhstan) and the Istanbul BM Contemporary Art Centre on preparing the curriculum of the new school in the region.
Together with Motorenhalle Project Centre from Dresden, SCCA -Ljubljana has established a residential programme for curators that will be launched in mid-summer of 2007. In the frame of their several-month stay in Dresden, selected curators will be acquainted with the art scene and will prepare one or several events (exhibition, discussion…) in Motorenhalle.
