Petja Grafenauer: Close Reading Workshop

Using the close reading method the workshop participants will deal with selected art and visual arts key texts of the last century.
The aim of the workshop is critical reading of art texts to improve understanding of theory and criticism of modern and contemporary art, which the participants will be later on able to use in their critical, artistic and curatorial practice.

Petja GrafenauerPetja Grafenauer (1976)
Art historian, curator, art critic, editor, writer and lecturer on contemporary art. Head of Vodnikova domačija Gallery in Šiška. Her main focus is contemporary painting in connection to other discourses, and history of the construction of the art discourse of the 20th and 21st centuries in the region. Between 2005 and 2006 she led the cultural redaction of Radio Student. Between 2007 and 2009 she was curator at the Gallery Ganes Pratt in Ljubljana. She lectures at the Department of Photography at VIST. She also lectured on history of contemporary art at the Art Academy at Nova Gorica University. She curated numerous group and solo exhibition projects.
