Workshop

Tuesday, 15 April 2025, 4 – 6:30 pm
Škuc Gallery, Stari trg 21, Ljubljana

The workshop and presentation on biotextile production will be led by textile and clothing designer Petra Jerič, who develops algae-based biomaterials (e.g. agar agar) for her creations. During the lecture, the mentor will present innovative materials, methods and technology for creating biomaterials, and talk about their potential for sustainable design, drawing on her own practice. This will be followed by a practical workshop where participants will learn the basic steps for creating products using biological materials and design their own piece of jewellery. The lecture and workshop will highlight the connections between science, art and fashion design, and consider options for reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry.

The workshop is intended for ages 16+. No prior knowledge is required. The number of places is limited. Registration is required.

A 5 EUR fee covers the cost of materials and is payable upon receipt of an invoice after registration.

REGISTRATION AT: lara.plavcak@scca-ljubljana.si.
